Seemingly harmonious, the space is decorated with the portuguese tiles

Intertwined with the tiles, messages emerge in the form of telegrams. The content of this weave reveals not only diligent requests and personal favors to a friend and former classmate, but also discloses a 1959 manifesto signed by dozens of intellectuals who disagreed with the imposed and authoritarian politics.

The tile pattern was embroidered onto a cloth contemporary to the time of the events. The production process was documented photographically and printed on sheets of tracing paper.
The letters and textiles come from my family archive
